O-Shot

What is the O-Shot?

The O-Shot is a noninvasive procedure to rejuvenate your intimate wellness and address the symptoms of female sexual dysfunction. The therapy involves drawing a small sample of your blood, creating a rejuvenating concentrate of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from the blood, and injecting it directly into your vaginal area.

What is platelet-rich plasma?

Platelet-rich plasma is a substance made up of concentrated platelets that naturally occur in the blood. The platelets release natural growth factors to stimulate cellular regeneration and promote tissue repair.

The medical field has relied on PRP in sports medicine, but now it is helping to address other health concerns, such as sexual dysfunction, overactive bladder, and urinary incontinence. The O-Shot harnesses the revitalizing power of PRP to address a number of women's sexual health concerns.

What are the benefits of the O-Shot?

The O-Shot may benefit your intimate wellness and health in several ways. The treatment may help alleviate:

  • Arousal problems
  • Low sexual desire
  • Painful sex
  • Difficulty reaching orgasm

The O-Shot may improve the elasticity and tightness of your vaginal canal to enhance sensation. You may notice more vaginal lubrication following an O-Shot. The treatment may also help correct an overactive bladder or promote greater bladder control if you have urinary incontinence.

How do I get the O-Shot?

Your treatment takes place at Laser & Vitality Institute. Your practitioner draws a small amount of blood from your arm. The blood undergoes immediate treatment in a centrifuge, which spins the blood to separate out the platelets and plasma. The result is a supercharged concentrate of platelet-rich plasma.

Your practitioner then applies a numbing cream to your vaginal area and clitoris. They gently inject the platelet-rich plasma in your vagina in the area of the Grafenberg spot, or G-Spot, which is an erogenous zone. They also inject the PRP into your clitoris.

You should feel no pain during the procedure because of the numbing cream. The entire therapeutic process takes only an hour from start to finish.

What happens after the O-Shot?

The treatment promotes the growth of new tissue over the next three months. Your results may last up to eight years, although results vary from person to person. Your Laser & Vitality Institute practitioner discusses realistic expectations with you at your initial consultation.
